PPG AP team members address UN environment conference

Members of the PPG Asia Pacific (AP) team shared the company’s sustainability initiatives at a conference held by the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
这是PPG今年首次被邀请参加正在审议中的亚太环境伙伴关系会议，是邀请名单上唯一的参会企业。此类会议的与会者通常是高校、环境研究所和政府合作中心，这些机构都有从事于区域/国家级环境政策宣传工作方面的专家。
PPG was invited to the Asia-Pacific Partnership for Environment Under Review Conference for the first time this year – and was the only enterprise on the invitation list. Participants typically are universities, environmental institutes and government cooperation centers, all of which have experts working on regional/country- level environmental policy advocacy.

Huang presented PPG’s corporate sustainability goals, initiatives and achievements. His key message was “everything we do resolves aroundsustainability.”
PPG亚太区产品管理计划经理Kendra Cheng展示了PPG的可持续优势产品，并做出了无铅承诺，突出该公司为保护和美化世界所做出的努力。
Kendra Cheng, AP product stewardship program manager, showcased PPG’s sustainable-advantaged products and lead-free commitment to highlight how the company protects and beautifies the world.
环境署关于解决亚太区域空气污染问题最重要的其中一项议题与PPG的一项可持续性的关键倡议有所关联，该倡议旨在推广工业生产中低溶剂涂料的使用。
One of UNEP’s top recommendations for addressing air pollution in the AP region is related to a key PPG sustainability initiative, introducing low-solvent paints for industrial applications.
Cheng表示：“环境署和PPG都将此次会议视为熟悉彼此工作、寻求合作机会的一种渠道。”
“UNEP and PPG saw the conference as a way of becoming familiar with each other’s work and seeking opportunities for cooperation,” said Cheng.
PPG亚太区环境、健康和安全高级专员Lillian Yao也出席了此次会议。

After the meeting, UN representatives met with Cathy Yan, general manager, corporate and government affairs, AP; and Richard Ren, director, EHS, AP, at PPG’s China headquarters. They agreed to explore further cooperation.
