    NHL China Games raise profile of PPG, packaging customer

    NHL中国赛深圳赛场和北京赛场，冰场挡板上均可见到PPG/NHL标识。

    As the NHL seeks to raise hockey’s profile, where better to do so than in China, a country with 1.4 billion potential fans? 

    今年的NHL中国赛在深圳和北京各举行了一场季前赛，对阵双方是波士顿棕熊队和卡尔加里火焰队。PPG包装涂料客户奥瑞金包装有限公司(O.R.G.)是今年NHL中国赛的冠名赞助商，比赛的官方名称为“2018奥瑞金·NHL中国赛™”。PPG与奥瑞金都为今年的比赛提供了荣誉赞助。
    This year’s NHL China Games featured two NHL preseason competitions between the Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames – in Shenzhen and Beijing. PPG packaging coatings customer O.R.G. Packaging Co., Ltd. (O.R.G.) was the title sponsor of the games, known officially as the 2018 O.R.G. NHL China Games™. PPG proudly sponsored the games alongside O.R.G.

    “The China Games offered us a unique opportunity to demonstrate our relationship with the NHL while supporting a shared interest with one of our prominent packaging coatings customers, O.R.G.,” said Jens Brackebusch, general manager, packaging coatings, Asia Pacific. “The games highlighted PPG as an innovator in paint and coatings that consumers see or interact with every day.” PPG is the Official Paint of the NHL®.

    《纽约时报》等主流媒体就今年的NHL中国赛发表了400多篇报道。关于两场季前赛的附照片新闻稿共计25篇，整体媒体价值为289万美元，观众总人数超过2.3万名。
    This year’s games resulted in more than 400 media coverage articles in major outlets such as The New York Times, 25 photo and press releases, an overall media value of $2.89 million and a total attendance for both games of more than 23,000 fans.

    PPG制作了一段延时视频，在两场季前赛上都有播放。在这段视频中可以看到，PPG汽车修补漆培训主管Jeremy Seanor正是采用自家公司的涂料制作了PPG/NHL中国赛标识。在赛场内的比赛计分牌上，以及可以通过摄像机镜头看到的冰场挡板上，也能见到PPG的标识。此外，PPG还对回顾每场比赛的微博文章进行了赞助。
    PPG created a time-lapse video, shown during both games, in which automotive refinish training supervisor Jeremy Seanor made a PPG/NHL China Games logo lockup using the company’s coatings. PPG also was represented by an in-game scoreboard feature, a camera-visible dasher board and sponsored Weibo posts recapping each game. 

    去年，美国冰上曲棍球联盟的球队第一次在中国进行比赛。洛杉矶国王队和温哥华加人队在上海和北京进行的比赛也是由奥瑞金提供赞助。
    Last year, NHL teams played in China for the first time. Competitions between the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks in Shanghai and Beijing also were sponsored by O.R.G.

    The NHL is helping China to develop a hockey infrastructure, including supplying instruction and equipment, introducing a ball hockey program in schools and publicizing hockey on social media.
